Quarterly Clean-up
Information about your quarterly clean-up service.
Willoughby City Council holds four residential clean-up services throughout the year for bulky items that are not collected on a weekly basis. Check your annual Willoughby City Council Household Clean-up Service and Recycling Guide for more details about items that can be collected in each clean-up. The guide is distributed at the end of each year. Phone Council in the new year if you haven't received it.

- All material must be on the kerb the evening before the scheduled collection day
- Material must not be placed on the kerb for more than one week prior to the collection day
- Excessive volumes of material will not be collected (a maximum of 2m3, or one small box
trailer load is allowed) - Loose items will need to be contained in either bags or boxes
- Avoid placing material in a way that may block pedestrian and vehicle access
- Any rejected material not removed from the nature strip will be referred to a Council Ranger
- lf you only have a couple of small items for the clean-up service, consider placing them in
your red-lidded bin instead of on the nature strip
First Quarter (January to March)
Bulk Vegetation Recycling Service
REMEMBER
- All vegetation must be tied with string into manageable bundles.
- Do not place vegetation in plastic bags.
- All tree branches and untreated timber must be cut into maximum 1m lengths.

- The maximum thickness of tree branches is 150mm in diameter.
- Christmas trees must be chopped into maximum 1m length.
Third Quarter (July to September)
Metal Recycling Service
REMEMBER

- Bikes can be recycled through the bicycle recycling network.

General Clean-up Service
REMEMBER
- Consider donating usable items first.
- Second Hand Saturday is an opportunity to sell or give away items you no longer want or need before putting material out for the general clean-up. On the Saturday before your general clean-up, residents are encouraged to host a garage sale before placing items out for collection. Council will advertise the addresses of the garage sales.
- Mattresses can be cleaned or recycled by Dreamsafe. Visit www.dreamsafe.com.au before you put your mattress out for collection. Fees apply.
- Council hosts e-waste drop-off events during the year for recycling electronic waste items including TVs, computers, monitors and printers. Check Council's website for the next e-waste collection day.
